Private Label Cat Litter: The Approval Process
A practical buying workflow for product selection, sample evaluation, artwork and order confirmation.
Write the requirement brief first
Identify the market, product format, order quantity and packaging. Separate essential requirements from preferences so sample selection can focus on the points that determine approval. For a health monitoring product, include the colour chart and consumer instructions in the brief.
Approve a representative sample
Record the sample specification and evaluation conditions. Check the product in the intended box and use case. Colour, fragrance and packaging changes may require a further sample or artwork review; do not assume an earlier approval covers a changed specification.
Coordinate packaging and artwork
Confirm net weight, bag dimensions, carton count, barcode data and destination language. Review benefit statements against the agreed product. Avoid unsupported dust, environmental or health claims, and do not describe monitoring as diagnosis.
Maintain a clear version of the approved artwork. A screenshot or a verbal approval can leave uncertainty about which file was accepted.
Confirm the order and quality review
- Link the quotation and order to the final product and packaging specification.
- Confirm MOQ, payment and delivery terms with the commercial documents.
- Agree any sample, label and shipment checks required before dispatch.
- Review quantities, weights and carton information on the shipping documents.
Plan delivery before the last step
Specify the destination and the delivery arrangement requested. For U.S. warehouse supply, confirm stock and coverage for the chosen product. Door delivery does not establish a universal lead time or a particular customs term.
